SUN LI
Master Sun Li is Master Stefano Agostini’s Yi Quan teacher: " he was the one who showed me the Way of Yi Quan, by accepting me in his school and in his family".
The qualities that most distinguish him are his great teaching ability and his love of teaching: two qualities not often found among the Chinese masters.
Master Sun was born in Peking in 1955.
He began to study Yi Quan at fourteen years of age following in the steps of the most famous masters such as Yao or Duo Shi Ming.
From 1986 on, having moved to Japan, he has taught Yi Quan in Tokyo where he holds the position of vice-president of the Chinese Yi Quan Society, and of president of the Kokusai Ikenkai Association.

JAN KALLEMBACH

In 1997 Master Stefano Agostini was invited to visit Master Jan Kallenbach at his school in Amsterdam.
As a result the two teachers met again several times establishing a profound friendship and esteem.
His attitude towards the martial arts, towards his deceased teacher and his pupils, his enthusiasm and humility deeply impressed Master Agostini.
Kallenbach has always made one think of a great warrior, with the courage of a lion and the heart of a young boy.
Master Kallenbach was born in Amsterdam in 1943.
"My school is called Shin Bu Ken, an appropriate translation could be: a martial art where the mental aspect is decisive".

LI JIAN YU

Master Agostini met Master Li Jian Yu in 1998 in Brittany. They met on one of his European seminars, and only a few days were sufficient to understand the great humanity and kindness of this master, his ability in calligraphy and painting, and his abundant generosity.
Born in Peking in 1924, he is the youngest direct pupil of the second generation, and apart from his ability in martial arts, is famous as a painter and calligrapher.
He considers Yi Quan a true internal art.
His teacher Yao Zong Xun used to say: "it is useless to move, we must change within. If you move you will change nothing".

The Lives of the Masters is taken from the book by Stefano Agostini:
"Kung Fu Yi Quan- Mental Boxing".
